Ride-hailing service Uber recently announced that users in Greece and seven other European markets (Belgium, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, France) can now make a car rental reservation with Uber Rent through the Uber app.
The new Uber Rent service promises to make car rental easier for users. Uber users will be able to access and choose from hundreds of vehicles from the world’s most trusted car rental companies, including Hertz, Avis and Budget, literally at the touch of a button.
“We’re excited to expand the range of transportation options in Greece and offer the possibility for people to go literally everywhere with Uber through the Uber Rent service,” Uber Greece General Manager Sarita Varouch said.
In collaboration with CarTrawler, a leading technology company in the car rental industry, Uber recommends the best possible car rental option based on a user’s location and destination. The service also offers users the ability to compare prices, choose a vehicle size, and review a vehicle from previous users.
“Greece is one of the first markets to use this new service, confirming the company’s commitment to the country,” Varouch added.

Questions about car rental from Uber
To rent a car through the Uber app, users need to follow these steps:
1. Update the Uber app to the latest version and the Uber Rent option appears.
2. Select “Rentals” and enter the date and pick-up point in the corresponding Cartrawler fields that appear.
3. Cartrawler offers a wide range of rental options within the Uber app
4. Choose and book a car.
The cost of your rental car depends on several factors, such as the amount of time you’ll be renting, car size (such as SUV), and market seasonality. By using the Uber app, you can view and compare current prices from several popular rental companies in one place, to conveniently choose the option that fits your needs.
With Uber Rent you can use the Uber app to see if there are vehicles available for same-day pickup. Set your preferred pickup time and dropoff date and time to see available vehicles near you.
You can rent a car for as little as an hour, but a daily fee will be applied. On the other end of the spectrum, you can reserve your rental car for up to 6 months.
Uber says is committing to becoming a fully electric, zero-emission platform by 2040, with 100% of rides taking place in zero-emission vehicles, on public transit, or with micromobility.
It adds that it has a responsibility as the largest mobility platform in the world to more aggressively tackle the challenge of climate change.
“We will do this by offering riders more ways to ride green, helping drivers go electric, making transparency a priority and partnering with NGOs and the private sector to help expedite a clean and just energy transition,” Uber says.
