James Bond Star Pierce Brosnan has been touring Greece for the last couple of weeks where locals rush to get a photo together with the Hollywood star.

The most recent stop for Brosnan was the island of Lipsi, a small group of islets at the northern part of the Dodecanese near to Patmos island and Leros.

During his stay in Lipsi, Pierce Brosnan was photographed with Rena Paradisis a local resident who posted a photo with him on her personal Facebook account.

In the caption of her post, she wrote: “Good morning everyone, today I met actor Pierce Brendon Brosnan, who played James Bond, on the road… And I thought we should take a picture together… It’s not every day we have famous actors on our island.”

Brosnan arrived in the city of Kavala, northern Greece on September 3rd with his billionaire friend John Paul DeJoria, known for his involvement in the hair products industry and for owning Patrón tequila. DeJoria has a special connection to Kavala, as his mother hails from the city.

The duo, accompanied by their spouses and two friendly couples, arrived via a private flight from France and checked into the Imaret Hotel, where they stayed for a bit before setting sail for the Aegean.

The 70-year-old actor, who was loved by the public through his role as James Bond, seems to be on a “tour” of the Greek islands. So far he has traveled to Lesvos, Ios, and Patmos with his wife and friends.

One of the most prominent of Brosnan’s roles is related to Greece. The first Mamma Mia! movie, filmed on Skopelos, Skiathos, and in Pilio, was directed by Phyllida Lloyd and released in 2008.

He is best known as the fifth actor to play secret agent James Bond in the Bond film series, starring in four films from 1995 to 2002 (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day) and in multiple video games.

Brosnan has received two Golden Globe Award nominations, for the miniseries Nancy Astor (1982) and for the dark comedy film The Matador (2005).

In 1996, along with American film producer Beau St. Clair, he formed a Los Angeles-based production company called Irish DreamTime.

He is also known for his charitable work and environmental activism. In 1997, Brosnan received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the film industry.
