Torrey DeVitto on ‘Love’s Greek to Me’ Shot in Santorini

American actress and former fashion model Torrey DeVitto opened up about filming in Santorini “Love’s Greek to Me” which premiered recently on Hallmark Channel.

In the movie, she travels with her Greek boyfriend, Mike (Yannis Tsimitselis), for his sister’s wedding, where she’s the maid of honor. But after Mike surprises Ilana by proposing, she finds herself caught in the whirlwind created by his well-meaning and overly enthusiastic mother, Athena (Marina Sirtis).

“It has all the elements that you would want out of a sweet romance movie. And I feel very confident in saying that we, as the entire cast, had a blast filming it and I really think that chemistry will come forward,” DeVitto told ET.

“Filming in Santorini was an absolute dream. The sunsets alone were enough to take your breath away. I think the biggest memory that will stay with me forever though was the cast I got to experience Greece with,” she added.

Asked about Greek culture or Greek cuisine she said she learned that you will get funny looks every time you order a Greek salad and ask for no feta cheese.

“That made me laugh every time. I had to say, ‘Yes, yes, I know it’s technically not a Greek salad anymore, but I’m vegan!’ ”

DeVitto told ET that she loved being around Greek culture. “The passion they have in their daily conversations reminded me a lot of my Italian side of the family.”

“Love’s Greek to Me has a great cast, makes great use of a gorgeous setting, and actually has something unique to say about relationships,” Brett White wrote in the Decider.

“Marina Siris excelled at playing a well-meaning but overly enthusiastic future mother-in-law wanting to incorporate family traditions,” wrote another at Rotten Tomatoes.

Torrey DeVitto’s first starring role was as Karen Kerr on the ABC Family drama series Beautiful People (2005–2006).

She followed this up with recurring roles as Carrie in The CW drama series One Tree Hill (2008–2009), as Melissa Hastings in the ABC Family/Freeform mystery drama series Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017), and as Dr. Meredith Fell in The CW fantasy drama series The Vampire Diaries (2012–2013).

DeVitto went on to star as Maggie Hall in the final season of Lifetime’s drama series Army Wives (2013) and as Dr. Natalie Manning in the NBC medical drama series Chicago Med (2015–2021).
