A Jet2 flight from Larnaca to Manchester took an unexpected twist this week when a woman passenger stripped to her underwear and ran through the plane shouting “Allahu Akbar.”

According to passenger reports, she alleged explosives were on board and asked the children she was with if they were “ready to die”, before she tried twice to enter the cockpit.

Manchester dad Philipp o’ Brien restrained the stripped woman and the plane was diverted to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, were police officers hand-cuffed her and removed her from the flight befor the flight could continue on his route to Manchester.

The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday.

“Everything was normal and then shortly after take-off a woman walked up the aisle naked and banged on the cockpit door shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’,” O’Brien told The Sunday Mirror.

The Manchester dad, who used to work in security, said: “As you can imagine, everyone was sh***ing themselves. I spoke to staff and said, ‘Why have you not put her to the floor?'”

After being told by cabin crew they couldn’t do anything, O’Brien took the matter into his own hands. The second time the stripped woman tried to storm the cokpit, he took her to the ground, much to the relief of his co-passengers.

The pilot then decided to do an emergency landing in Paris, “so a disruptive passenger could be offloaded,” as Jet2 said.

The Daily Mail reported that the woman, believed to be in her thirties, said her parents were members of terror group ISIS.

Footage from the passenger’s arrest in Paris was shared online.
