Alex Antetokounmpo, the youngest member of the Greek basketball dynasty, just won the NBA Summer League title playing for the Sacramento Kings.

Alex, the youngest brother of NBA players Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas, didn’t play much in the Kings’ title game, which was an absolute demolition of the Boston Celtics, 100-67. He played a shade over four minutes, tallying just one steal and two missed shots.

But given how things have gone for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of his family members recently, having one on your team is probably a wise call.

First it was Giannis Antetokounmpo being named the NBA MVP — not once, but twice. Then it was Kostas Antetokounmpo winning a championship ring during his stint with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Giannis followed that up with a ring of his own this past season with the Milwaukee Bucks, alongside eldest brother Thanasis. Now, their youngest sibling Alex, the fourth Antetokounmpo brother, has some shiny new hardware of his own.

Alex Antetokounmpo: From Greece to NBA Summer League

Like his famous brother Giannis, Alex Antetokounmpo was born in Sepolia, a neighborhood in Athens, Greece. He is the son of Nigerian parents, Veronica and Charles Antetokounmpo. He has a Nigerian passport, which was granted to him in June of 2013, so that he could gain a visa, and be allowed to legally enter the United States.

Alex received Greek citizenship in 2016. He started playing basketball at age nine, and in sixth grade, he moved with his family to Milwaukee, where his older brother Giannis was playing his rookie season for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association.

On June 2, 2020, Antetokounmpo signed a three-year contract with UCAM Murcia of the Liga ACB. On 18 October, he made his debut for the club’s reserve team in the Liga EBA, recording 28 points and six rebounds, shooting 6-of-9 from three-point range, in an 83–69 win over SCD Carolinas.

After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA draft, he joined the Sacramento Kings for the 2021 NBA Summer League. The Sacramento Kings then proceeded to win the 2021 NBA Summer League.
