Greece is one of the most-searched summer travel destinations in Europe, according to Sojern, a travel marketing and data analysis company.
After collecting data about searches for airline tickets for the upcoming summer season, Sojern determined Spain was the most-searched travel spot in Europe.
Greece, however, was a close second, followed by Portugal, France, and Italy.
Greece is a beloved destination for summer travel due to its unrivaled natural beauty, unique culture and traditions, and centuries of history.
Europeans, largely stuck inside due to the coronavirus pandemic, have been looking to travel within the continent this summer.
Many hope that vaccination campaigns will make international travel safe and feasible in the upcoming summer months.
According to their data, Sojern found that travelers from the UK conducted the most searches for summertime getaways, followed by travelers from France.
Even though the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism sector has been massive, Sojern conducted the same research in 2019 and found similar results.

Greece may see an uptick in tourism from Scandinavia due to a recent feature in the magazine “Vagabond.”
In the popular travel magazine, Greece’s Cycladic islands, known for their beautiful beaches and iconic blue-and-white buildings, were ranked.
Naxos, the largest of the Cycladic islands, topped the list. Known for its ancient sites, delicious local cuisine, and stunning beaches, Naxos is a top choice for a summer trip.
In second place was Andros, which is the northernmost island in the Cyclades. Only a short boat ride from Athens, Andros provides a breath of fresh air from the Greek capital.
Chora, its main town, has unique, neoclassical architecture, distinct from the other Cycladic islands. Additionally, the island is full of sleepy, secluded beaches, perfect for a relaxing holiday.
Following Naxos and Andros were Mykonos, Santorini, Koufonisia, Milos, and Ios.
