Actress and comedic icon Betty White turns 99 years old on Sunday, January 17. In true White fashion, she joked that now, “I can stay up as late as I want without asking permission”.
The actress shared that she had a low-key day planned. The famous animal lover celebrated by feeding some ducks that visit her house, and sharing a hot dog and fries with her longtime agent and good friend.
However, one fan is going the extra mile to get her a birthday present she’ll never forget. Konrad Juengling of Boise, Idaho, has started a petition to establish “Betty White Day” on the actress’ birthday.
Juengling started the petition in White’s hometown of Oak Park. So far, he has collected over 400 signatures.
White was born in Oak Park in 1922 to parents Christine Tess Cachikis and Horace Logan White. Her mother is of Greek descent, and White has always been proud of her Greek heritage.
On her birthday, White took the opportunity to announce the re-release of an old series of her called “Pet Set”. On Instagram, White said the show will be released on streaming and DVD on February 23.
