A very peculiar story in the era of the coronavirus was made public on Friday in Greece, regarding the curfew and the tough measures the Greek state has imposed to limit the spread of the contagion.
According to CNN Greece, a Greek man, who had recently returned from Spain and was put into quarantine and self-isolation, was fined with €5,000 after being found that he had broken the quarantine.
The most surprising thing of all, perhaps, was that the man’s mother was the one who turned her son in, as she informed the police when she saw him exiting their house.
The man, who was found in Omonoia Square, claimed that he left the house to go and find a room in a hotel since he had had a fight with his family.
The police searched him and after they found out that he had to stay at home due to his recent trip to Spain, he was fined the staggering sum of five thousand euros.
