Greece Announces New Leaders of the Armed Forces

The Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA), Greece’s supreme decision-making body on issues of foreign policy and national defense, held a meeting on Friday morning and named who would become the new leaders of the country’s armed forces.
Following the conclusion of the KYSEA meeting, the Government announced that they have unanimously decided on the appointment of Lieutenant General Constantinos Floros as Chief of the General Staff of National Defense (GEETHA).
The KYSEA also chose Lieutenant General Charalambos Laloussis as chief of the Army General Staff (GES).
Admiral Stylianos Petrakis was chosen to be Chief of the Greek Naval Staff (GEN) and Vice-Commander George Blioumis will remain Chief of the Hellenic AirForce (HAF).
