One Dead After Train Collides With Car in Northern Greece

An horrific collision between a passenger train and a small automobile took place near the town of Diavata in Northern Greece on Monday morning.
A train which was heading from Alexandroupolis to Thessaloniki collided with a small, compact car which was carrying two passengers.
The impact was quite violent, and local firefighters rushed to the site of the accident to gingerly remove the two unfortunate passengers out of the destroyed vehicle.
Both of the accident victims were transported to a hospital in the nearby city of Thessaloniki.
Tragically, one of the two passengers, reportedly a pregnant woman, has already succumbed to her injuries, according to a statement issued by Greece’s train operator, TRAINOSE.
