Greek Foreign Minister Warns ''No One Should Even Think of Coming to Our Waters''

George Katrougalos, Greece’s Foreign Minister, gave an interview to THEMA radio station on Thursday, during which he sent a clear and direct message to Turkey.
When asked what Greece will do if Ankara brings any of its drilling ships inside the boundaries of the Greek continental shelf, he replied ”Greece has its navy, and we have already sent the necessary messages to everyone, that no one should even think of coming to our own waters.”
Katrougalos added that ”I can assure you that nobody is insane enough to want an incident in the Aegean Sea.”
The Greek Foreign Minister’s remarks were made on the same day the Commander of the American Sixth Fleet, Vice Admiral Lisa Franchetti, is visiting Athens to discuss current affairs with the Minister of Defense, Evangelos Apostolakis.

Meanwhile, and after three days of conferences, the second round of the ”Confidence-Building Measures” talks between Greece and Turkey concluded in Ankara on Thursday.
The Greek Ministry of Defense issued a statement calling the talks ”constructive,” noting that they had focused on ”avoiding unjustified tensions during military exercises.”
