Frontex Saves Sixty Migrants in the Sea off Samos, Greece

Sixty migrants who were trying to make their way to Greece as passengers aboard a dinghy were saved near the village of Agios Constantinos on the island of Samos on Wednesday morning.
According to local authorities, a Frontex vessel was guarding Greece’s shores when its officers on board spotted a dinghy coming from Turkey which appeared to be attempting to reach the island of Samos.
The vessel belonging to the EU’s external border and Coast Guard agency reached the dinghy and saved the migrants, as their vessel appeared to be ready to capsize and their lives were threatened.
The migrants were then transported to the port of Vathy on the island of Samos and are expected to be transferred again to refugee and migrant camps.
