Ferry Asterion II battling monster waves

Dramatic footage has emerged from a video of a Greek ferry fighting gale-force winds on its way from Venice, Italy to Patras, Greece.
Christophoros Skamangas, the captain of the ferry ”Asterion II” who is from the island of Syros, bravely battled the waves and the wind to safely reach Greek shores.
The video was recorded in the strait of Otranto, which separates the Adriatic from the Ionian Sea, as the Italian peninsula extends to the East, reaching close to the Balkan peninsula.
According to passengers who had been on board the ferry, the wind was blowing between 9 and 10 on the Beaufort scale at the time the video was recorded.
