George Pelecanos Releases New Book, ‘The Man Who Came Uptown’

George Pelecanos, known for his work in noir novels and series – such as HBO’s “The Deuce” and “The Wire” – has just released a new book titled “The Man Who Came Uptown”.

The book contains plenty of action, but lendsimportant insights about how stories and literature can change people, get us through difficult times, and affect the way we see the world.

Pelecanos’ three main characters are Phil Ornazian, a private eye gone slightly rogue, Anna Kaplan Byrne, who runs a jail’s book-group program, and Michael Hudson, a recently released convict looking to make some changes in his life.

True to form, Pelecanos ensures that these three fully fleshed-out and flawed characters pursue paths that all end up intersecting in intriguing ways.
