After two patrol boats off the coast of Cyprus found an empty speedboat adrift at sea, they located 24 Syrian migrants on the island’s southeastern coast.
The migrants are thought to have sent the boat adrift after arriving on the coast of the island.
It was discovered drifting off the coast on Friday, some 300 meters from land.
Of the 24 migrants, police reported that there were two children and one infant aboard who were taken to the hospital.
The group is now in the care of Cyprus’ Civil Defense and Welfare Department.
