A trailer has been released for the movie “Wildlife”, directed by Paul Dano and co-written by Zoe Kazan and Dano himself.
The feature, an IFC Films production, marks a directorial debut for Dano. Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan co-star as parents of a 14-year-old only child named Joe, played by Ed Oxenbould. The film is told through the point of view of the teenager.
Joe watches his family falling apart as his father loses his job and desperately takes a job fighting a wildfire, and his mother tries to keep the family functioning while simultaneously feeling lost and hopeless.
“Wildlife” is set in the 1960s. The film has already received great reviews at Sundance Film Festival, where it premiered, and it will be in theaters on October 19.
Dano and Kazan, in addition to dating in real life, previously teamed up in “Ruby Sparks”, in which they co-wrote and co-starred. Kazan just finished filming her part in the movie “Secrets From the Russian Tea Room”.
