Zoe Kazan is joined by a critically-acclaimed cast in a new movie unofficially called “Secrets From the Russian Tea Room”, which started filming in Toronto on March 23.
The film focuses on a luxurious Russian restaurant in New York City, and the eccentric characters who work and frequent the place.
Kazan portrays a mother trying to get away from her abusive cop husband. The restaurant’s manager is played by Bill Nighy, while Caleb Landry Jones from “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” comes in as a young man who really needs a job at the establishment.
The cast also includes Jay Baruchel, Tahar Rahim, and Andrea Riseborough.
Though initial filming has begun in Toronto, “Secrets From the Russian Tea Room” will also shoot in Copenhagen and New York City.
Director Lone Scherfig has plenty of prestigious movies under his belt, including “One Day”, and the Academy Award-nominated “An Education”.
