Two Greek Soldiers Arrested by the Turkish Army at Evros

Two Greek soldiers have been arrested by the Turkish Army near the border between the two countries at Evros River.
The Greek ministry of Defense says that the two Greeks lost their way due to bad weather at the wooded area of Kastanies and crossed into Turkish territory where were intercepted and arrested.
The Greek soldiers were conducting a routine patrol in the area.

The ministry says that they are in contact with the Turkish authorities and the process of their return to Greece is under way.
The two soldiers are held in the Turkish town of Andrianoupolis (Edirne) and they are said to be in good health.
Greek analysts express concern that the two soldiers were transferred to Andrianoupolis. They say such incidents usually end within minutes between the military authorities on either side of the border.
