A Trikala citizen appealed to the European Parliament, asking for the immediate implementation of the law that bans smoking in closed public places in Greece.
The document sent to the European Parliament is posted on the trikalavoice.gr news website. The complaint was accepted by the pertinent agency, and the European Commission is launching a preliminary investigation as to why the Anti-Smoking Law is not implemented in Greece.
The Trikala citizen’s initiative and petition has begun to gain many supporters in the country. Posts in social media call on non-smokers to sign a petition to the European Commission in order for smokers to stop breaking the law and violating the rights of non-smokers.
