Greek vegans protested in Athens against the killing of animals for food, by displaying a bloodied severed head of a cow.
The protest designed to shock, achieved its aim as the photographs made the rounds in the Greek social media and web sites.
The group, named 269life, was asking people that were passing by to look at the dead cow’s eyes in order to convince them that animals are deserving respect.
The protest was scheduled to coincide with the beginning of the festive season when Greeks consume large quantities of meat.
