Michael Skibbe to Remain Greece's Football Coach for Two More Years

German coach Michael Skibbe took over as Greece’s national football coach after a disastrous two years; when the team’s performance was at an all time low, and managed to reshape its fighting spirit.
This fact was apparently recognised by the Greek Football Federation (EPO) and his contract with the team was renewed for another two years.
Despite the fact that Greece failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Moscow, the squad fought for second place in its group (behind the mighty Belgium) and played Croatia in the playoffs.
The 52-year-old coach will return to Athens from his native Germany on Thursday Nov. 30 to sign his new two-year contract with Greece, which will allow him to lead the team through to the end of the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
Skibbe will be surrounded by the same assistants he had during the recent qualifying campaign. Kostas Tsanas and Thomas Stratos are set to stay on as national coaches for the next two years.
