AEK Advances to Greek Cup Final

AEK Athens clinched a place in the Greek Cup final on Wednesday despite losing 1-0 to Olympiacos in the second leg of their semi-final clash at the Olympic Stadium, going through on away goals after the tie ended with a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
AEK was a shadow of the team which won 2-1 in the first leg but looked like they might hold on for a goalless draw until Jacques Romao scored with eight minutes left to silence the AEK fans and set up a nail-biting finish to what had made for an unforgettable game.
The game was intense, with several opportunities, suspense and anxiety right to the end. In fact, Olympiacos had a short shot with Cardoso at the 90-minute mark, but failed to qualify.
