Government Goes Over Issues of 2nd Review at First Meeting with Institutions

The progress made so far in negotiations and the issues that will dominate the second review of Greeceā€™s program were discussed in the first meeting between the government and representatives of the institutions in Athens on Sunday, finance ministry sources said.
Both sides expressed their willingness to complete the review within the specified framework, the sources said. The government was represented by Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis and Alternate Finance Minister Giorgos Chouliarakis.
The first round of talks with the representatives of the institutions is expected to conclude on October 27 and the heads of the institutions will return after the Eurogroup on November 7.
EuroWorking Group will convene at the end of November and the government wants the review to be closed by then so that after Eurogroup meetsĀ on December 5, the two sides will start discussing debt relief and the participation of the IMF in the Greek program.
According to the government, the timeframe to complete these talks is Christmas.
