But did you realize that there are over 2,683 beachfront hotels to choose from? The vast majority of the hotels can be found on the islands and offer amazing sea views and easy access to the beach. Let’s take a look at what says are the top ranking islands for hotels within around 100 meters from the waves located in Crete, Corfu and Rhodes.
Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands, and the fifth-largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, so it’s no surprise that most coastal hotels in Greece can be found on this island. Crete has around 568 lodgings to choose from along its turquoise coast. The majority of the hotels are found in the prefecture Chania with 203 beachfront properties. There were 133 in the prefecture Irakleios, 124 in the prefecture Rethimno and 108 in the prefecture Lasithi.
Corfu, a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, is the second largest of the Ionian Islands and was the next most populous islands on’s list boasting around 193 coastal hotels. Of them, there are 18 seafront options in Cavo and 14 in Palaiokastritsa, making this island a very popular travel destination.
The beautiful island of Rhodes, known as “The island of the Knights,” is located northeast of Crete and just off the Anatolian coast of Turkey. Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands and has 181 hotels with 28 in Faliraki that offer amazing access to the beautiful beaches if the Dodecanese!
