A perfect way to get to know the beautiful Peloponnese region of Greece is to enjoy an amazing wine tour during your visit. The region has the distinction of being labeled AOC, or “Vin d’Appellation d’origins Control.” This label is intended as a guarantee of origin and of quality. The wines of each AOC are supposed to have a distinct and consistent character and only specific areas capable of producing such wines can qualify for AOC status.

The first stop is Nemea, situated not too far from the town of Nafplio. This is considered to be the most important AOC region in southern Greece for red wine production. In Nemea, the Agiorghitiko grape (Saint George) is grown to produce classical and famous wines known for their deep red coloring, complex aroma and velvety palate.
Next on the tour stop is Argolida, where you will encounter some of the most sophisticated wineries. also in this region, the natural geography is stunning as this region is green and lush with fields and forests as well as mountains, famous beaches and famous archaeological sites like Ancient Epidavros. The climate and soil combined in Mantinia produces its well-known elegant, dry white wines. It is thought of a “new wine,” as only wine enthusiasts know of this distinctive white wine.
