Greek Crewman Killed on Tanker Airstrike at Libyan Port

 

araevoA Greek oil tanker with a Liberian flag was attacked by an unidentified military aircraft in a Libyan port. A 29-year-old Greek crewman was killed and two other crew members were injured.

The Operations Center Headquarters of the Greek Coast Guard was informed by the company that manages the ship.

The ARAEVO tanker was carrying 12,600 tons of crude oil and was moored in the port of Derna in Libya, with a total crew of 26, including three Greeks, 21 Filipinos and two Romanians.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also informed of the incident by the ship owning company.
