Lagarde List Case Reopens for Ex Greek Minister and Relatives

Papakonstantinou - Lagarde listThe Lagarde list case reopens after Easter and the former Greek Finance Minister Giorgos Papakonstantinou along with his relatives Eleni Papakonstantinou, Andreas Rossonis and Simeon Sikiaridis will be led in front of the Supreme Court special Magistrate Iosif Tsalaganidis.
The special Magistrate examined the depositions of five people outside politics and decided to investigate the former minister and his three relatives as he has sufficient evidence from the Greek Parliament to proceed with the case. As for Ioannis Diotis and Ioannis Kapeleris, they will both be led in front of Magistrate Papakostas.
Former Minister Papakonstantinou is being accused of distorting a document and of infidelity and misconduct as he allegedly deleted the names of his relatives from the so-called Lagarde list when he was minister of Finance. Papakonstantinou however, has already denied any wrongdoing.
The Lagarde list has been named after the former French Finance Minister and current head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, as she handed the list to Papakonstantinou in 2010. The list contains the names of alleged Greek tax-evaders who have been hiding deposits in accounts of HSBC branch in Geneva, Switzerland.
