Greek Painter's Villa to be Sold at Auction

Moralis' VillaSeveral Greek and French businessmen are interested in buying the luxurious villa of renowned Greek painter Yiannis Moralis.
The villa is located on the island of Aegina, Greece and was designed by the renowned Greek architect Aris Konstantinidis. It is a luxurious property by the sea and consists of two buildings totaling an area of 500 m2. Both buildings are fully furnished, with spacious living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. The workshop of the renowned painter was also located there, in which we can still find some unfinished paintings of his.
After Moralis death in 2009, the PASOK MP Dimitris Karydis proposed the preservation of the historic house by the Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Since then, the municipality of Aegina has been trying to acquire the painter’s house and turn it into a museum but without success.
The luxurious villa will eventually be sold at an auction for a minimum bid of 1.1 million euros.
