On October 4, Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos arrived at around five in the afternoon at the Korydallos Prison Complex. Michaloliakos is detained on the charges of directing a criminal organization.
Golden Dawn MP Giannis Lagos was also led to Korydallos Prison after the unanimous decision of the interrogator and prosecutor on the charges of participating in a criminal organization.
According to information, Michaloliakos and Lagos will be detained in a separate cell in the prison’s female wing, while they will take their time in the yard separately for security reasons. Both of them were transferred in jeeps of the Counter-terrorism Service, while the circulation was stopped on the roads of central Athens for their safe transport.
The interrogators of the case with the consent of both the prosecutors decided that Giorgos Patelis will also be detained. Patelis is involved in the case of Pavlos Fyssas’ murder in Keratsini and he will be detained in Malandrino Prison which is of maximum security.
Along with Michaloliakos, Patelis and Lagos, Sergeant Venetia Popori who was serving in the Piraeus Security Department will be detained at the prison of Elaionas Thivon.
Popori had a close relation with Patelis and it is estimated that she was giving him information on police patrols, protecting in this way the Golden Dawn “cores” in the wider region of Pireaus.
At the same moment it is being investigated whether Popori used her post in order to give the names, telephone numbers and address of immigrants who where then to receive visits by Golden Dawn members in Nikaia and Piraeus.
Right after the murder Patelis and Popori exchanged two phone calls to cover the incident.
