Sydney’s Most Stubborn Seller is Greek

752995-nick-papadopoulosAccording to news.com.au, a Greek-Australian has gained the title of Sydney’s most stubborn seller. Nick Papadopoulos has had his house in Redfern suburb of Sydney on sale for two years now without wanting to make the slightest discount on its price.

He is a very active seller though: the house has taken part in two auctions with no result, while three different agents tried to sell it unsuccessfully. Moreover, the house featured on a reality renovation TV show.

Despite the changes that have taken place in the Sydney’s property market and the dramatic movements in interest rates, the 73-year old is determined not to reduce the price of his three-bedroom two-story terrace house in the slightest.

Papadopoulos says about his house: “I don’t know why it doesn’t sell. I suppose I just need to wait for a buyer. I don’t worry about inspections or anything, I just live my life, I don’t change anything in the house”.

According to RP Data property statistics, the average time on the market for houses in Sydney is no more than 77 days and over the past 12 months the median sale price for Redfern is $805,000, up from $746,250 in 2009. Papadopoulos wants $839,000, what he says is an affordable price and he won’t take nickel less. Try him.
