Egypt Connected to Chalkis Red House

tromaktiko3791The Hearth of Knowledge (Estia Gnosis) in Chalkis has been connecting schools in Evia with schools in Egypt, under the project TeleHearth during the last three years.
The project promotes the exchange of knowledge and science between two classes that are separated by a big distance, but are brought together and function simultaneously.
The Red House of the Mallios Family, built in 1884 by French architect Flegkis, belongs to the Municipality of Chalkis in the framework of the Hearth of Knowledge. One of its rooms has been transformed into a studio with seven cameras. Since November 2009, when the project began, until the present time, more than 50 connections have taken place between schools in Evia and schools in remote regions in Greece and abroad.
The last connection and communication in 2013 with the Averofio Greek School of Alexandria in Egypt will be realized on April 14 and 15. The third grade of Amarynthos Gymnasium, as well as the second grade of Chalkis’ First Lyceum will attend the connection in the Red House, while multiple presentations will be given.
