Former Greek First Lady Marika Mitsotakis Hospitalized

Marika Mitsotakis, wife of honorary former President of the New Democracy political party of Greece, was transferred to Evgenidion Hospital of Athens today.
The 82-year-old woman was driven to the hospital after feeling physical discomfort. Members of her family, including her husband and children, visited the hospital.
Marika is the mother of four children, including Dora Bakoyannis, president of Democratic Alliance party, and MP Kyriakos Mitsotakis. She has also 13 grandchildren. Marika has had issues with a walking disability after contracting polyomielitis in a swimming pool at the age of 17.
The wife of the honorary former president of the New Democracy party has been an activist against disabilities. She also recently published a cookbook.
Doctors ran some tests, including X-rays. However, no official announcement has been made by the doctors or members of Mitsotakis’ family.
