Greece’s digital infrastructure investments and the practical uses of artificial intelligence were on the agenda as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited NVIDIA and Sequoia Capital’s headquarters in California on September 21, 2026.
The meetings brought together technology executives, researchers, and investors, according to the prime minister’s office.
Digital infrastructure and AI development
At NVIDIA, Mitsotakis met with senior executives and John Josephakis, global vice president for business development. Discussions covered investments underway in Greece’s digital and computing infrastructure, alongside NVIDIA’s support for startups, governments, and technology companies developing and adopting AI applications.
Mitsotakis also toured NVIDIA’s research center, where the company designs semiconductors and computing systems. The visit offered a closer look at the technology underpinning the development and operation of advanced AI models.
Healthcare, education, and robotics
At Sequoia Capital, Konstantine Buhler and Doug Leone hosted a gathering of investors, researchers, founders, and executives. Participants included specialists working on AI applications in healthcare, education, automation, and robotics.
The government’s announcement described the discussions as productive.No specific investment commitments were announced.
The next stop for the Greek PM’s official US trip will be New York City where he is expected to participate at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
