Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas won his first title in 16 months on Sunday at the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad 2026.
The former world number three scored a three-set win over Belgian Raphael Collignon in the clay-court tournament to win the 13th ATP singles title of his career and the first since Dubai in February 2025.
This was also the first time that a Greek tennis player has won the Swiss Open Gstaad.
“Turns out, determination can move mountains. Very, very happy to lift my 13th ATP title in Gstaad!”, Tsitsipas captioned a video clip of himself lifting the trophy on X.
Tsitsipas’ return to wins with a new coach
This major career comeback for Tsitsipas – who has suffered health, family, and personal turbulences since his last title – gave him a much needed boost in the world ranking as the win catapulted him from 85th to 55th in the world.
On the eve of Wimbledon three weeks ago, Tsitsipas announced his split from his father Apostolos as his coach. This was the second time they have parted ways since 2024, only this time the Greek champion said the separation is permanent. Thomas Perrin from Patrick Mouratoglou’s academy has taken over since as his coach.
Following his triumph at Gstaad, Tsitsipas is expected to compete at American tournaments later this summer.
