The Odyssey: New trailer
This latest teaser provides the most comprehensive glimpse yet into the sweeping grand scale of Nolan’s vision, flashing between storm-tossed seas, brutal battlegrounds, and explosive conflicts as Odysseus begins his perilous, decade-long journey home following the fall of Troy.
The trailer opens with a weathered, heavily scarred Odysseus (Matt Damon) struggling on a desolate shore. A haunting voiceover reminds him of the things he left behind: “Thunder, fire, death… and remember a wife, a son, a home.”
Back in his homeland, things have fallen into chaos. We see a tense confrontation involving Telemachus (Tom Holland) and a hostile rival (Robert Pattinson), who taunts him for waiting for a father he doesn’t even know, stating that “Ithaca has a kingdom waiting for a king.”
The trailer builds to a cinematic climax with striking imagery of a massive ocean whirlpool threatening Odysseus’s ship. As a narrator warns that the gods speak in ways humans cannot understand, Odysseus stands defiant against a darkening sky, roaring back: “Then I defy the gods!”
