Legendary British heavy metal band Iron Maiden is set to return to Athens this Saturday, May 23 as part of their “Run For Your Lives” World Tour, bringing one of the most anticipated rock events of the year to the Olympic Stadium (OAKA).
The concert marks the band’s latest appearance in Greece during its global anniversary tour celebrating five decades since Iron Maiden’s formation. Thousands of fans from across Greece and abroad are expected to attend the show at the Athens Olympic Sports Complex in Marousi.
According to the band’s official tour schedule, Athens is one of the first major European stops on the 2026 leg of the tour, which includes stadium performances across Europe, North America, and Asia.

Iron Maiden’s “Run For Your Lives” tour focuses heavily on content from the band’s early decades, featuring songs associated with some of their most influential albums. The tour has also attracted attention because it is part of the group’s broader 50th-anniversary celebrations.
The Athens concert will take place at OAKA, Greece’s largest stadium venue, which has hosted major international music acts and sporting events over the years. Support for the Athens show will come from American thrash metal band Anthrax.
Preparations at the stadium have been underway for days, with large-scale stage construction and technical equipment being assembled for the production. The tour is known for its elaborate visual presentation, featuring large video screens, pyrotechnics, and the band’s iconic mascot Eddie appearing throughout the show.
Iron Maiden remains one of the most commercially successful and influential heavy metal bands in history, with a career spanning more than forty years and millions of albums sold worldwide. Fronted by Bruce Dickinson, the group built a global following through albums such as The Number of the Beast, Powerslave, and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
The current tour is also notable because it is the band’s first major world tour without longtime drummer Nicko McBrain, who retired from touring in 2024. Touring drummer Simon Dawson has since joined the live lineup.
For Greek fans, Saturday’s show is expected to be one of the largest rock concerts of the summer, bringing together generations of Iron Maiden listeners for a night of classic heavy metal at one of Athens’ most iconic venues.
