Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is expanding his business footprint beyond basketball with another major real estate acquisition in the United States. The NBA standout and his family investment group have purchased a newly built residential complex on Chicago’s South Side, further broadening their property portfolio.

According to a report by business platform Black Enterprise, the development, known as Harmony Apartments, was completed in 2024 and includes 56 residential units spread across four interconnected buildings. The purchase marks one of the group’s largest US property moves to date.

The total value of the transaction amounted to $21 million. As part of the financing structure, Old National Bank provided $11 million in funding, supporting completion of the acquisition.

The Chicago purchase aligns with a broader investment strategy that combines long-term returns with community-focused development, the report notes. In addition, the deal increases the scale of the family group’s US real estate holdings and strengthens its position in income-generating assets.

Investments across sectors in Greece and the US

Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player widely known as the “Greek Freak,” has steadily built a diversified investment portfolio alongside his basketball career. His business activity spans multiple sectors across both Greece and the United States.

Current ventures include retail operations through the AntetokounBros brand, equity stakes in companies with strong growth profiles, a restaurant business in Milwaukee, and participation in an investment fund listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Market sources familiar with his strategy say real estate has become an increasingly important focus in recent years. The Chicago apartment acquisition reinforces that direction, positioning property assets alongside his operating businesses and equity investments as core components of his long-term portfolio.
