President-elect Trump on Tuesday announced several picks among them Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News personality, to serve as ambassador to Greece.
Guilfoyle had been engaged to Donald Trump Jr. and is close to the Trump family.

“For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally. Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad,” Trump said.
“Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation,” he added.
In a statement following the announcement, Guilfoyle said she was honored to accept the president-elect’s appointment.
“As ambassador, I look forward to delivering on the Trump agenda, supporting our Greek allies, and ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity,” Guilfoyle said on X.
Who is Kimberly Guilfoyle, the next US Ambassador to Greece
Guilfoyle is a former co-host of Fox News’ “The Five” and was an assistant district attorney at the San Francisco and Los Angeles district attorneys’ offices before beginning her media career.
She abruptly left her position on Fox News in July 2018 and later served as the Trump campaign’s finance chair during his 2020 presidential bid. She later became a key witness to the events leading up to the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, and met with the House select committee investigating the insurrection in 2022.
Before becoming a TV personality she was a prosecutor in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Guilfoyle was born in San Francisco on March 9, 1969. Her mother was Puerto Rican and her father was born in Ireland and immigrated to the United States at the age of 20. She was raised Catholic. She grew up in the Mission District of San Francisco and in Westlake, Daly City.
In December 2001, Guilfoyle married politician Gavin Newsom, then a San Francisco city supervisor. Newsom was elected mayor of San Francisco in 2003.
On May 27, 2006, in Barbados, Guilfoyle married furniture heir Eric Villency. On October 4, 2006, Guilfoyle gave birth to their son, Ronan. Guilfoyle and Villency divorced in November 2009.
In June 2018, Vanessa Trump, who had filed for divorce from Donald Trump Jr. three months earlier, confirmed that Guilfoyle was dating Trump Jr.
In mid-2019, Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. jointly purchased a $4.4 million home in The Hamptons. They sold it in March 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic for $8.14 million.
Also in March 2021, the couple jointly purchased a $9.7 million home in Jupiter, Florida. Guilfoyle and Trump became engaged on December 31, 2020. The news of the engagement was not made public until January 2022. Since 2021, Guilfoyle and Trump Jr. have cohabitated in their Jupiter residence.
Donald Trump Jr. posted in support of Guilfoyle on X. “I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First,” he said.
If the US Congress confirms Guilfoyle as the next US Ambassador to Greece she will replace George Tsunis.

Greek Americans for Trump, an organization supporting the President-elect since 2016, has issued a statement enthusiastically endorsing the nominee Ambassador to Greece.
“President Trump’s leadership has strengthened US-Greece relations, and Kimberly Guilfoyle is the perfect choice to build on this success,” a statement says.
“Her experience in law, media and politics makes her uniquely qualified to represent America and enhance our interest abroad.”
The statement adds that the organization will work to ensure her confirmation rallying the Greek-American community.
