Elon Musk is on track to become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027, thanks to his various holdings in Tesla, SpaceX, and X.
According to Informa Connect Academy, Tesla’s exponential growth could make it worth a trillion dollars by 2025. Tesla is currently worth around $670 billion and is Elon Musk’s most valuable asset. Musk’s wealth has also been growing fast, at 110 percent annually. According to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index, he was the richest person in the world this year, with a net worth of $251 billion.
Informa Connect Academy also suggested that business conglomerate founder Gautam Adani of India would be the second in line to become a trillionaire. Adani is projected to reach that status by 2028 if his growth remains at 128 percent.
Jensen Huang, the chief executive officer of the tech firm Nvidia, is not too far off on Asani’s trail, as he could also become a trillionaire by 2028 much like Jeff Bezos, whose net worth is seeing steady growth thanks to Amazon’s consistent success.
Indications Musk will be the world’s first trillionaire
Elon Musk’s most vital asset that can push him toward becoming the world’s first trillionaire is Tesla. Its incredible growth rate and positioning as the automotive option of the future boost investor confidence.
Musk’s various holdings also provide him with an excellent safety net, as not all of his eggs are in one basket. Musk owns SpaceX, whose close association with NASA ensures its continued success. While X is the weakest of the companies he owns, it is also a vital asset, as it continues to be one of the world’s most important social media platforms.
Obstacles he might face
Having that safety net will be crucial if Musk is to be the world’s first trillionaire, especially because he is one of the most controversial yet influential figures today—even occasionally getting himself into some trouble. His social media platform X was recently banned in Brazil, and his comments regarding the 2024 US election have found him in hot water on more than one occasion.
Following the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, he posted on X saying that “no one” is trying to assassinate Kamala Harris or President Biden. Of course, he received condemnation from the White House for this statement. He thus deleted his post and backtracked, saying it was a joke.
He has made many more controversial statements about his political views on X. Musk’s statements are problematic because he has a massive amount of influence, as he has created shifts in the stock market solely from random X posts. He has more than 200 million followers, and when he speaks, people listen.
If he doesn’t get in his own way, Elon Musk could well be the very first trillionaire in the world quite soon.
