U.S. infotech giant Hewlett-Packard Enterprises (HPE) plans to create a Global Excellence Center in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Greece.

Greek Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, Christos Dimas, announced the new initiative at the Delphi Economic Forum and revealed that the center will be part of HPE Ezmeral Software.

The global Excellence Center will help organizations around the world apply artificial intelligence, data and advanced analytics to uncover insights, create trusted transactions, and employ intelligence in new, ethical, secure ways.

In April 2022, HPE had announced the launch of another Global Excellence Center in AI in Madrid, Spain.

HPE’s new investment in Greece

HPE recently created over 30 new positions for specialized software engineers and programmers with extensive abilities and experiences in tools of open code, to boost the new Center of Excellence [in Greece], and has already filled most positions, Dimas told the Delphi Economic Forum.

“Greece is emerging as a hub of innovation in the greater region; it has turned a page, enjoys the confidence of markets now, and attracts leading companies from the global technological network to invest here,” he stated.

HPE Greece and Cyprus CEO Michalis Kasimiotis expressed his enthusiasm about the new investment, and said it would “bring closer human resources and technology, promoting innovation and helping companies and organizations throughout the world to create more value and acquire a competitive edge from the massive volume of data they currently own.”

Commenting on the plan, HPE VP and General Manager Mohan Rajagopalan added: “This significant investment in new talent will further speed up innovation and development of HPE Ezmeral Software, providing significant value to our clients.”

Delphi Economic Forum concludes Saturday

The Delphi Economic Forum Annual Meeting, now in its 8th year, is taking place from Wednesday to Saturday, 26-29 April 2023, in the emblematic town on Delphi in Central Greece.

The nonprofit, member-driven organization, committed to deliver and promote innovative ideas for sustainable and competitive growth for Europe and the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, attracts heads of state, policymakers and business leaders from around the globe.

Its host of prominent speakers were scheduled to address a range of issues from the war in Ukraine and globalization to Greece as an educational hub and the future of Democracy, this year focusing on “Paradigm Shifts” as its central theme.
