Photographs of the NBA’s most acclaimed veteran and now team owner showed him on board a yacht off Ierissos.
This is Jordan’s second holiday in Greece; after his 2019 wedding with model Yvette Prieto, the couple had spent their honeymoon on the island of Mykonos.
Greatest basketball player of all time
According to his biography on the official NBA website, Michael Jordan is, by acclamation, “the greatest basketball player of all time.”
He was integral in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming a global cultural icon in the process. His leaping ability earned him the nicknames “Air Jordan” and “His Airness.”
Jordan played in the NBA for fifteen seasons between 1984 to 2003 and won six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls before eventually becoming the principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets in 2010.
The acquisition made him the first former player to become the majority owner of an NBA team and also the league’s only African-American majority owner.
Top international athletes vacationing in Greece
Michael Jordan is the second NBA icon to choose Greece for their holidays this summer; Magic Johnson also enjoyed a long yacht holiday on the Aegean in July with stops in Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini.
Besides NBA’s most acclaimed veterans, the country has attracted more world-famous athletes as a vacation destination this year.
American tennis player Serena Williams shared her own experience exploring the Acropolis of Athens in July along with her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and her four-year-old daughter, Olympia.
Among the latest celebrities seen in the country is also professional tennis player Roger Federer, who was seen with his family enjoying themselves at a local beach bar on the seashore of the island of Paros.
