Athina Onassis, the only surviving descendant of Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, may be getting married for the second time.

Onassis, who was married to Brazilian show jumping rider Alvaro de Miranda Neto from 2005 until 2017, is the daughter of Christina Onassis, who tragically died at the age of 37.

Now, it seems that the heiress and celebrated show jumper is ready to be married yet again, this time to Italian business man and show jumper Alberto Zorzi. The couple have reportedly been in a relationship since shortly after Athina’s divorce in 2017.

This comes after a period of profound sadness for Athina due to her divorce from fellow show jumper de Miranda five years ago. The Greek heiress has long been known to shy away from the press and cameras, but after her split, she was even more careful about her privacy.

Now, it seems that Athina may be ready be married yet again to her Italian partner after her heartbreak.

The sole surviving Onassis (her uncle Alexandros having died in an airplane accident in 1973), Athina seems, like her grandfather and her mother, to have been singled out for a life of difficulty in many ways despite her riches.

Her mother, Christina, was known for hosting wild parties at her father’s home on the Greek island of Skorpios.

Tragic life of Athina Onassis

Christina Onassis’ daughter, Athina Onassis, was born on January 29, 1985 and was later baptized on Skorpios. Nightlife on the island calmed down after that point, and Christina and French pharmaceutical heir Thierry Roussel, Athina’s father, started divorce procedures after just eight months of marriage.

Athina was only three years of age when her mother, Christina, passed away of a pulmonary edema.

Despite the hardships in her life, Athina has become successful on her own right. The last surviving Onassis is a seasoned show jumper, and her devotion to expensive horses means that much of her fortune and energy has been devoted to the animals over the years.

When Athina was only twenty years old, she married de Miranda, a famous show jumper that she had known for many years from show jumping competitions.

They continued to travel the world, competing in the glittering world of show jumping for eleven years until Athina’s world was shaken up after revelations of her husband’s serial infidelity came to light.

After her divorce, Athina seemed to warm up to her mother’s home country, adopting her mother’s maiden name, learning the language, and even competing for Greece at a show jumping competition outside Athens in 2019.
