Kelly Clarkson‘s star continues to rise, as the Texas-born Greek-American singer and host took home three Daytime Emmys for her talk show on June 25.

Kelly Clarkson’s Career Since “American Idol”

After winning the first season of “American Idol” in 2002, Clarkson quickly topped the charts with breakout pop hits. These included “Behind These Hazel Eyes”, “Because of You” and “Since U Been Gone.”

The singer’s voice and engaging performances have won her millions of fans and critical acclaim for decades.

After Clarkson started appearing on the singing competition “The Voice” as a judge, viewers fell in love with her bubbly personality and charisma as well. This led to an opportunity to host her own talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

The show debuted in 2019 to very high ratings and positive feedback. In 2020, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” also took home three Daytime Emmy Awards after being nominated for seven in total.

This year, Kelly Clarkson won the Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host. Her show won an award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show, as well as Outstanding Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing.

Almost immediately after her wins, Clarkson took to Twitter to express her gratitude and thank her crew for creating the series. She Tweeted, “Time to celebrate y’all…and I’ll be toasting to the @KellyClarksonTV crew for all of their hard work.”

The show has hosted plenty of celebrity guests, including Greek-American stars such as John Stamos. Stamos and Clarkson rocked out to the Beach Boys hit “Kokomo” on a virtual episode of the show during the 2020 pandemic.

The Singer’s Personal Life and Future

Although the singer recently divorced from her husband, it appears she is taking the time to focus on her career, as well as taking care of her two children, River and Remington.

Clarkson has used her many successes in singing and hosting to help support various charity projects as well. In 2019, she hosted a “Clear the Shelters” special to encourage pet adoption.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” airs on NBC, and will be back for a third season in the fall. As for Clarkson herself, after a cancelled Vegas residency due to the 2020 pandemic, opportunities continue to arise. Thanks in part to the show, she is now a household name across the US.

Part of the reason Kelly maintains such popularity among audiences and the industry itself is because of her humble and grateful attitude.

After seeing that she won for Outstanding Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmys, she tweeted out the following: “It’s such an honor to win Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host at this year’s @DaytimeEmmys, but I couldn’t have done it without the crew, my band, my glam squad, and of course, the ones who watch at home!!”
