Greek Police Arrest Suspected Jihadist at Athens Refugee Camp

A Greek Anti-terrorism squad arrested a man suspected of having participated in the ISIS terrorist group on Thursday at Athens’ Eleonas refugee and migrant camp.
The authorities stated that they seized electronic devices from the shipping container in which he lived at the camp, outside the Greek capital city, and that they will be examined.
The Greek police, ELAS, said in a statement that the suspect entered Greece on March 28, 2018. He reportedly did not deny the charges that were levied against him in his interrogation and he will face a prosecutor in Athens in the very near future.
The man, who is from Syria, is now facing charges including terrorism and assisting in homicide.
The statement added that the suspect had appeared in a video featuring ISIS fighters that was disseminated in 2014. It was not clear if this fact had led to the man’s identification or if that had been revealed in the course of his interrogation.
