The Defense Minister of Turkey Hulusi Akar accused Greece of several violations against Turkey, according to a report from Greece’s Kathimerini Daily on Saturday.
Akar not only accused Athens of violating Turkey’s airspace, but he also claimed that Greece violates the Turkish territorial waters and harasses Turkish fighter jets.
According to the report, Akar said that Greece violated Ankara’s territorial waters seven times, its national airspace 42 times, and harassed its fighter jets 15 times in October.
There has not been any official reaction from Athens on these allegations as of yet.
It is noted that Greece and Turkey have been in a constant bras de fer since August, when Ankara sent its exploratory vessel Oruc Reis to sea areas off the island complex of Castellorizo, in areas of Greece’s continental shelf.
