More than One Hundred Arrested for Violating Coronavirus-Related Emergency Laws

The Greek Police announced on Monday that there had been a total of 127 arrests for violations of measures meant to prevent and contain the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus in Greece.
These arrests took place between Thursday, March 12 and Monday morning, all across the country.
The total number of recorded violations of the new strictures reached 127.
According to the police, arrests have been made in the following areas: 48 in Attica, 25 in Western Greece, 10 in Thessaly.
There were seven in both Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and in the South Aegean region, five each in Western Macedonia Central Macedonia, and Crete.
Four arrests were made in the Peloponnese, three in Thessaloniki, three in Central Greece, two in Epirus, two in the North Aegean region and one in the Ionian islands region.
The violations recorded involved the illegal operation of businesses such as hairdressers, cafes, restaurants, tavernas, grill houses, bakeries, pastry shops and others, whose operation has been temporarily prohibited.
According to the Greek police, market inspections are continuing with undiminished frequency in order to safeguard public health.
