Students, Teachers Storm Greek Education Ministry (video)

Dozens of students and teachers stormed the Ministry of Education building in Athens on Friday in protest against planned reforms in Greece’s secondary schools.
The group forced its way inside the building, despite a heavy police presence, and demanded a meeting with Minister of Education Costas Gavroglou, who was not in his office.
In a similar incident last month, angry students entered the office of Gavroglou demanding he withdraw the new reform package.
Students claim that the reforms will intensify an already-demanding educational curriculum, while at the same time limit broader course offerings.
The students also oppose plans to merge university faculties across the country.
Teachers complained of staff shortages and are demanding the hiring of new staff.
