Deepwater drillship, Saipem 12000, has arrived in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), where it is expected to begin drilling for hydrocarbon reserves in field 6 of Cyprus’ EEZ, called “Calypso”.
Minister of Energy, Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, wrote in his twitter account today “Saipem 12K, welcome to Cyprus EEZ. “Calypso” awaits”.
“Best of success ENI and TOTAL” the Minister wrote, referring to the energy companies which received license for hydrocarbon exploration in Cyprus’ EEZ.
