Alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos in a statement to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency on Saturday dismissed reports that Qatar has stopped any investment activity in Greece.
“It is nothing more than fake news,” he said adding that such scenarios undermine Greece’s national interests.
Katrougalos reassured that the financial relations between Greece and Qatar are better than ever and there is no decision on the part of Qatar to stop its investment activity in Greece.
“What Al Rayyan claims – if it is true because the Greek government has not received such a letter – is exclusively for itself and in no way reflects the reality of the economic relations between Greece and Qatar,” he stated.
