Migration Policy Minister Yiannis Mouzalas inaugurated two new refugee camps in Serres and Drama describing them as “decent camps for dignified people.”
The camps will be operated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) under the supervision and coordination of the ministry. The camp in Serres is made up of 94 housing units with a capacity of up to 650 people (today it houses 487 refugees), while the one in Drama has 70 apartments for about 400 people.
Mouzalas was accompanied by the Chief of IOM Greece, Daniel Esdras, and the IOM’s Regional Response Coordinator, Gianluca Rocco.
